100 Days of Transformation
Day 3 – “WHY WE ARE POOR?”
Welcome to a day that has a potential to bring change in your life. Remember to read this message out loud and read only this message for the day. You inspire for you to be inspired.
Remember: #ItsPossibleBecauseItsDoable
I have no doubt that the question of why we are poor has crossed your mind on multiple occasions, with some likely suggesting possible answers. Today, I am going to divulge to you a few practical explanations for our state of poverty.
1. Fear – Fear has the power to paralyze us and prevent us from achieving our most ambitious goals, but it is the ultimate teacher. Having the courage to identify and confront our fears can help us discover our true potential. Instead of being held captive by fear, let us be inspired by it – as if each failure is a learning opportunity and a steppingstone to greater success. By acknowledging our fears and leaning into them, we can break through any perceived barriers to our success with confidence and clarity.
2. No systems – Without the establishment of appropriate systems and a well-defined plan of action, even the greatest aspirations will struggle to be realized. Systems are what show us the ‘how’ of achieving our goals. Taking the time to create a road map of your goals allows you to have a greater awareness of all the steps that must be taken along the journey and will ultimately lead to greater success.
3. No Relationships – Creating meaningful connections is what gives us success. However, we need to create genuine relationships that go beyond physical attractions. Remember that developing such relationships requires effort and sincerity. When we commit to making new relationships, we are committing ourselves to the possibility of creating new successes. By nurturing these genuine connections, our paths towards success will become that much clearer.
4. Accountability – Do you ever take a minute to check in with yourself at the end of each day? Ask yourself what you did today, last week, last month to make progress in your life? Take accountability for your actions, your words, for getting up in the morning, going to work, or school. Own the outcomes and leverage the power of accountability to manage your finances and reach new heights of success.
5. No Coach – The lack of a person who is there to help you with your dreams has defeated many people. Imagine a soccer team without a Coach. There is a huge need for a person to give you direction. Try to find one and see what will happen.
6. Time – Time is a key ingredient for success, as per the age-old saying: “time is money, and money is precious.” Yet, so many of us fail to show the respect for time that it deserves; when time is always on time for us, we should be too. The consequences of not being punctual are ever present in our society; missed opportunities, delayed progress, and an overall slower rate of success. Too often, we are the last ones to hear about newly presented opportunities; life often passes us by. Let us learn to value the preciousness of time, so that we can fully reap the rewards of success that are rightfully ours.
7. Wrong information – We often miss out on immense opportunities due to lack of knowledge. It is human nature to take the easier route of relying on information from sources we are aware of, rather than making the effort to seek out reliable sources. However, in doing so, we impede our own growth, relying as we do upon second-hand information.
8. Procrastination – Procrastination is one of the most detrimental habits that can obstruct remarkable results. By not taking action on one’s innovative plans, ideas may become forever lost. Every time an ambitious vision goes unrealized because of procrastination and for that I blame us for allowing it.
Plan of Action:
1. Identify any fears and work on overcoming them
2. Establish systems and plan of action for reaching goals
3. Make genuine relationships and nurture them to create success
4. Hold yourself accountable for the progress, actions and words taken to reach success
5. Find a coach to provide guidance and support
6. Respect and honour the time available to achieve set goals
7. Research and obtain access to reliable and correct information
8. Commit to taking action and avoid procrastinating on ideas and ambitions
