100 Days of Transformation
Day 1 – “LIFE IS TOUGH AND SO ARE YOU”
Welcome to a day that has a potential to bring change in your life. Remember to read this message out loud and read only this message for the day. You inspire for you to be inspired.
Remember: #ItsPossibleBecauseItsDoable
I may not have been the smartest or the richest in my class or neighbourhood, but I used my determination and will-power to study harder than anyone else. I earned the respect of even the most privileged kids. I persevered and emerged victorious against every adversity, overcoming all the obstacles life threw in my way. I learnt to recognize my own strength, to understand and embrace my uniqueness. No matter how hard life can be, I am tough.
Once you get to know yourself better everything changes. You can do all things not only through God who give you strength but also from getting to know yourself and knowing what makes who you really are. No one said life will be easy. The only way to make life easy is to fight back. Never allow problems to push you around. You are stronger that than the way you think.
Reflecting on all you’ve achieved, despite the challenges you’ve faced, it is remarkable that you not only endured them, but triumphed. Every time I look upon you, I see a remarkable person with tremendous inner strength, capable of overcoming any obstacle that stands in your way. When you feel weak, call to mind all that you have already survived – the other path for those of lesser fortitude is death or surrender. You did not, and do not, crumble under the pressure of what others may think. Instead, you remain strong and keep striving towards your goals.
Starting out selling airtime and fruit at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, I felt scared and intimidated – as many of us do when confronted by a daunting task. I had to dig deep, find inner strength, and be tougher than those who judged me solely based on my circumstances. Don’t let anyone or anything stifle your ambition: venture further and explore the limitless possibility of what you could potentially become in this great nation. Believe in yourself and reach for the stars – your dreams are within your reach.
Plan of Action:
1. Take a few moments to assess your current situation and develop a plan of action to reach your goals.
2. Acknowledge your own strength and inner-power: recall milestones achieved and overcome.
3. Gather resources around you to help you reach your goals.
4. Utilize your networks and leverage your contacts to gain support.
5. Stay positive and don’t underestimate yourself: never feel intimidated by a new task, but rather find the confidence and resilience to tackle it.
6. Take note of both successes and mistakes: learn from them and push yourself forward to achieve more.
7. Most importantly, remember to have faith in yourself and your capabilities: you have the strength to reach your goals and you have the power to move forward and become the person you want to be!
